# Convert / compress image - Workflow node | Docs - nodulz

Source: https://nodulz.com/docs/nodes/convert_image

Language: en

Export PNG, JPEG, WebP, AVIF or TIFF.

## Usage and specifics

Supply the source image and operation settings. Dimensions and coordinates use pixels. Inspect the returned format, dimensions and MIME type before storing or sending.

Technical type : `convert_image`. Runtime : `nodulz`.

## Credentials and prerequisites

This node defines no dedicated external credential. Remote sources or execution targets may still need their own access credentials.

See the [credentials guide](/docs/credentials) if a remote source or execution target requires access.

## Parameters

Names below are technical keys. Defaults are not a ready-to-run configuration: complete fields required by your operation. Paths containing [] describe list items; some fields depend on the selected mode.

| Parameter | Type | Default | Values / limits |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `input` | `string` | `""` | - |
| `format` | `enum` | `"webp"` | `png`, `jpeg`, `webp`, `avif`, `tiff` |
| `quality` | `number` | `80` | -; ≥ 1, ≤ 100 |
| `compressionLevel` | `number` | `6` | -; ≥ 0, ≤ 9 |
| `background` | `string` | `"#ffffff"` | - |

## Configuration help

| Setting | Purpose and guidance |
| --- | --- |
| `input`<br>Source image | HTTP(S) URL, base64, data URL or full image node output. EXIF orientation is applied before processing. Only the first frame of animated images is processed. |

## Initial configuration

Initial catalog configuration example, to adapt before running. Keep secrets in credentials.

```json
{
  "input": "",
  "format": "webp",
  "quality": 80,
  "compressionLevel": 6,
  "background": "#ffffff"
}
```

## Verification

Test with representative data. Check node output in the inspector and logs, then use editor mapping for downstream fields. A trigger test with a simulated payload does not validate external service delivery.
