# Redis - connection and memory - Credential setup | Docs - nodulz

Credential type in nodulz : `vector:redis`.

## Create access

Ask the administrator for the Redis host, port and password. Create a Redis vector credential in nodulz; its API key field stores the password used by this connector.

## Configure in nodulz

In your instance, open Credentials, select the type above, name the credential and complete these fields:

```text
host, apiKey (password), indexName
```

Save the credential, then select it on relevant nodes. URLs or parameters marked as node settings belong directly on that node.

## Things to check

The Redis node and Redis memory use this credential type. The remote Redis vector store uses a different HTTP gateway: see Redis - HTTP vector store.

Verify an operation with expected permissions and data before publishing. Keep secrets out of logs and revoke them with the provider when no longer needed.
